Legal Reasons for Eviction Eviction

You can legally be evicted for:

  • Not paying the total rent due

  • Consistently paying your rent late

  • Disturbing other tenants

  • Destruction or damage to the property (caused by you or your guests)

  • Illegal activities

  • If the landlord or a member of the landlord’s immediate family wants to move into your unit

  • Major renovations

  • If you live in non-profit housing and you no longer qualify
